Welcome to Oakley Natural Images, photography by Judith Oakley MSc, BSc (Hons). As an ecologist and marine biologist, I am fascinated by the natural world and hope that my photographs reflect this. I am particularly keen on photographing rockpool life to reveal the tiny creatures that survive in this hostile environment. I also have a growing interest in the hidden life of sandy shores and will be concentrating on this in 2008.

In April 2008, I launched 'Oakley Intertidal' Marine Education & Outreach, Interpretation and Consultancy. Please see my website at www.oakleyintertidal.co.uk

Most of my photographs have been taken around South Wales, Berkshire, Wiltshire and the south-west of England. I use a Canon EOS 400D SLR with 35-80mm, 18-55mm and 75-300mm lenses. I also use a Canon EOS 500 film camera and a Canon digital compact camera. My latest acquisition is a 10 megapixel underwater compact - the Olympus miu 1030 SW which I am currently trialing in rockpools.

I am an amateur photographer but have had many photographs published. I have contributed images to the Marine Conservation Society, Marine Biological Association, MarLIN, Countryside Council for Wales, Organisation Cetacea, Shark Trust and Defra.

To view a selection of my images, click on the GALLERY which is divided into FUNGI, FLOWERS AND PLANTS, PEBBLES AND FOSSILS, LANDSCAPES, ROCKPOOL REVELATIONS, SANDY SHORE/STRANDLINES, BIRDS, INSECTS, MAMMALS, AMPHIBIANS, WELSH ORCHID ODYSSEY 2007 and SKOMER ISLAND SUMMER '07.
